Belgian artist Cornelius Vandeputte (1969) embarked on his artistic journey in theatre at a young age. Later, he pursued ballet at the state school in Antwerp. However, due to physical issues, he had to abandon his dancing career. prematurely. Subsequently, he ventured into the film industry and simultaneously developed a profound interest in wine. He delved into the study of viticulture and worked as a wine consultant in London. After spending many years living and working abroad, Cornelius made the decision to return to his homeland of Belgium. Returning to Belgium and rediscovering his roots marked the beginning of a new chapter for Cornelius. He enrolled in the Academy of Arts in the cities of Ieper (Ypres) and Oostende, focusing his studies on sculpture. With his unique artistic approach, Cornelius skillfully intertwines the worlds of dance and sculpture. His constant aim is to push the boundaries of his materials, employing shapes that evoke movement and tension, ultimately revealing and conveying a deep sense of emotion.
